Title: Flemish Twist set up
Post by: Oldvol on May 16, 2022, 02:37:42 pm
I have a self bow that is 65”ntn. Want to make a 62” bow string. Confused about where to set the distance peg on the jig. Should it be 65” or 62”?

My jig is set up so the numbers represent the n/n distance not the string length.  That being said you can tweak it's length a bit by adjusting where you start your knot.

I think it depends on the jig you use.

I've never used a jig; I just do them by hand.  Maybe a jig is better and I'm really missing out, but this method works great for me:

Thanks for the comments. Buckskinner how did you set up the jig. I copied the 2x4 plan that was posted on this site.

I used the jig format on stickbow as below.
