Title: New Rifle finished today
Post by: Mike Yancey on July 26, 2022, 03:07:49 pm
Made this 58 caliber Early Virginia style rifle for my Wife. It is a Colerain 58 caliber swamped barrel 38'' x 58 caliber. Finished out at exactly 7 1/2 lbs. All from scratch.

Very, very nice build on the Virginia Rifle. I have always had a soft spot for the Virginia school of stock architecture. That's an excellent example of a fine rifle. A tip of ol' tricorn to you, sir.

I like the way that one turned out, you are more industrious than I am, I have slowed down on the building, probably because I have at least two of everything now, 4 deer rifles, 2 squirrel rifles and two fowlers.

Got it shooting a ragged hole at 40 yards. The high one is after I filed the sight a bit.
