Here's a few recent knives. The five on the right are the latest, the last two having been made in 2023. The second photo shows
a blade made from some very translucent agatized coral. Rock is obsidian, flint river, agatized coral. Handles are made from
Southern live oak, cedar and grape vine. One piece of cedar was a branch that had been chewed on by a beaver (third from the right).
I was able to keep all the teeth marks on the handle. The larger handles are 5" long and all knives are bound with artificial sinew.

They all look great but I really like the beaver chew stick handle.
Like the Agatized coral. I would like to get some more of that.

Thanks for the comments. Here's some gnarly cedar limbs that I found along the coast on the last trip - all destined to become knife
handles one day. The cedars grow behind the sand dunes along the South Carolina coast and are very prolific. I look for the dead
fallen branches that have some character with the twists, turns and insect activity. Photo of the limbs as I found them and after I cut
and trimmed them down to knife handle size. There are a few that I've cleaned up and stained with a natural oil based stain. I do it
all by hand and get a light gloss on the wood with up to a 1,000 grit sand paper before staining them.

Those are some good looking knives, Rick. You have me looking at all of the cedar on the property now. Are you still living in Georgia?

Eddie, we live in Columbia SC. but go down to GA several times a year. We camp at several coastal state parks along the SC coast. That hurricane
damaged and wind twisted cedar limbs make a great knife handle. I had someone ask me what kind of antler handle that last photo was. I told
him that it was cedeer.

All the handles are very nice. It's difficult to pick a favourite
maybe the beaver chewed but they are all great :OK
