I don't make as many bows as I use to, I am involved in a lot but only make 3 or 4 a year for myself to hunt with, but now with grand kids that grow like weeds I am back busy.2 of my grand kids had out grown there bows so in the last week or so I got on the ball and made them a couple out of some nice 10/15/ year old Osage, short pieces I had saved just for that purpose, 1 is for Margaret Ann who is 5 1/2 it is 15@15 R&D with all the trimmings she likes, pink string, deer antler nocks and purple beads and of course a turkey feather on the loose end of the string. Bodhi is 3 1/2 and his is 12@15 red and white string and red and white beads, he wants to be a fire man. :) Also antler nocks and a Turkey feather on the loose end of the string. I will show more pictures once they get them in there hands. :)

Looking good Pappy. I have also made some grandkid bows. They aren't as easy to tiller as you would think meaning a little scraping goes a long way when they are that thin.

Very nice looking Pappy. I know they will enjoy them.

nice.

Very nice, Pappy. Your grandkids will be elated. Jawge

Very cool, Pappy. :OK

I’d love one of these as a kid. This is a great way to have the kids have something to remember grandpa by. Great idea.
-
Look forward to seeing pictures of them with the kids. Nice looking braced profiles Pappy.
I agree with piddler. A person can learn a lot about tillering from making kids bows.

Those bows turned out great. Nothing better than grand kids and bows.
-
Looking good Pappy! Nothing better than making a bow for them younger ones.

Looks good. Now you got to make some little arrows
-
Looking good Mark. Hope to see ya in May this year.
-
That’s great, Pappy. Good work.

Thanks guys, yes Piddler I would rather make an adult bow anytime, a little goes a long way when you start to get close, these wound up only about 1 growth ring thick. That's great new Arvin, I was hoping you could make it to Tennessee this year. :)

I’m on target for it if life does not get in the way. You know since you prefer making adult bows better you can adopt me as a grandchild.🤠🤠

Any time Arvin but you would probably be disappointed in the distance of one of mine :) Took a few pictures of the bows, I plan on giving the bows to them tomorrow if the ice and snow gets off the roads. Margaret Ann's is 45 N-N and Bodhi's is 44 N-N. Margaret Ann's handle is wrapped with brain tan strips stain with walnut stain, Bodhi's is wrapped with Elephant belly leather. :)

The strings are d97 /8 Strand with a bowyer's knot on the bottom limb. Put some of them little finger things on Margaret Ann's and plan on putting them on Bodhi's when I find some more, :-\ I think that will help not having to use a glove or tab. :)

They took very little set and shoot a 1/4 arrow very fast, i think they will love them for at least a few years to come, then I guess i can make more. ;) :)

It's a little bigger project for me--I've got 11 grandkids. Only the 2-year-old hasn't had his own bow yet. ;-)
Pappy, I hardly recognize you without your hat!
-
Good work grandpappy. Those grandkids are more lucky than they know, but they will one day.
-
Great work!! Those little bows look like they'd be a real challenge to tiller!
-
Those look really good Pappy.
I agree with Pearl.
I’m also pretty sure that those bows will be used by them too which is totally awesome.

Those are awesome little bows, Pappy. I’m sure they will have a blast shooting them.
-
Pappy they will love them. My grandsons have a blast with theirs. Still some supervision needed with them as of yet but they are pretty cautious.

Pappy, or if you don't mind ...Papou...which is Greek for grandfather, those bows are just so special. I love the handles and the detail you put into them.
Those will soon be memory makers.

Thanks guys glad you liked them and hope they do ;), sorry to say I will have to wait till next week to give them their bows, Ice storm here the last few days kept them away yesterday, so it will be next week .Thanks Jawgs I like that. :) Ya Jim I don't go with out my hat much, guess I am old school and was taught as a child , no hats in Church/ in the house or at the table. :) :) funny how things stick you learn as a child. :)

I was also taught no hats in the house. It was the norm of our culture when all men wore fedoras or bowlers or other fashionable lids. I chuckle when I see movies set in the old days and all the high society men are wearing hats indoors.
-
Papou and Jim, I do wear my hat indoors. Ma, of eternal memory, used to tell me I was going to go bald. But I remove it at the table. :) Jawge

Ya Jawgs we were all raised with different rules, none really right or wrong just different. :) :)
