Had promised my deer parts supplier (JR) this bow a year ago - finally :). Hick, 67" n/n, 45#'s @ 28" - he has some shoulder issues. Was going for 50 lbs but I think it's actually closer to 47, anyway my scale is hard to read ten feet away ;D. Not impressed with the tiller, it's a little off and a touch whippy but shoots OK - he didn't notice ::). Those tips - I couldn't tell ya what they are, something I dug up in Laredo but it contrasts well with white woods.

Why you ol humble cowboy you! ;D That's a fine, pretty piece. Nice to see people remembering their suppliers too. Gotta take care of them. I did the same thing a while back, gave away a black cherry flatbow to the guy that supplies me those feathers. Makes a person feel good to give from the heart out of appreciation. O:)

Ha whaddya mean musclin in on my hickory racket. Seriously nice lookin bow as usual.Ronnie
-
Thanks fellers :). I forgot to mention in that one pic of me holding the bow to the side, the bottom limb looks like it's about broke over or hinged - that was a whooptedo in the tree. Kinda gave me fits during tillering. Haven't tackled your hic yet Ronnie - but it's calling me ;D.
-
She's a fine one! Great job! Jawge
-
fine bow cowboy!
great job on the tips.

nice job man. I actually think that that kinda tiller suits a whitewood bow better. If you would have the fades bending more you would end up with unwanted set on those areas.
-
Great looking Hickory Cowboy, another fine job.He ought to love that.I love the color and the tip work. :) Very nice.

Good looking bow Paul, I'm sure he will like it :)

Cowboy, I don't see anything wrong with the tiller on that bow. I really like the dye job and the tips. You keep going, you're going to get purty good at this bow building thing.Ha
Ha. Just kiddin'. David
-
Man, that's a really TALL fence! What are you keeping out? Or in?
-
That's a really nice bow Paul! The finish looks great. What do you have on the back of the bow or is that just the dye?
Alan
-
thats a pretty nice bow, i'd be happy with it.
;D
-
Holy Hickory! ;D This bow sure woke me up this a.m. Nice Job - and bookmarked, of course. I also bookmarked the picture of the tip - quite the craftsmanship.
-
Very nice Cowboy. I agree with everyone else... you're to hard on yourself.
John

Well I dissagree with everyone. I think the bow looks terrible and just to show what a good guy I am I will dispose of it for you before you make the guy mad...lol Seriously though Paul shes a beauty. We are always in search of the perfect tiller are'nt we. Nice dye job too by the way. I haven't made too many bows yet but it looks like our styles may be the same at least on that one. Yours look a little better I think. Danny
-
Beautiful dye job. you guys keep giving me more ideas, now if I could just figure out how to download the pics of my bow I could finally show them to you.
Robb
-
I appreciate it fellers :). that's another dye dob job Alan, no backing. Scott, that's somebody else's place in town - side of his shop. Thanks Don!
Danny, I'll put it in the mail soon - uhh, maybe not - I'd have to tangle with JR first, he's a purty big fella ::).
Figure it out Robb - we'd love to see your good works.
-
Nothing not to like on that bow! Great attention to detail and the tiller looks fine to me. Down right purty! ;D
-
That bow looks great.Good job on the tips, and finish. How did you keep the white edge,(perimeter),around the red dye? That is neat!!! God Bless
-
Gracias Greg and Pete!
Pete: Just dye the bow however ya want it then sand off the corners - works like a charm :).
-
Nice bow Paul. Did you heat treat the belly?
-
Yes, I did some Ryan - probably could have used another pass.
-
