Title: plains bow quiver/antler bow handle
Post by: dismount on October 15, 2008, 08:23:03 pm
Someone wanted a closeup of a quiver to build one and I wanted to show the handle I put on a bow with 2 knots in the handle. Antler is sika stag. the quiver is 22'' long X 6'' wide.Looks like a bark tan deer leather.
Sorry it took so long to get pics,I'm still learning. Hope this helps.     Dismount

Nice work dismount. How does the handle feel when shooting it. Love to see more pics of both.

Thanks, I'm trying to post a pic of the quiver thats sized for this format. Okie1 the handle fits pretty good in my thumb groove, and it's pretty comfy. Can't get any more free sika antlers. woolaroc museum is now selling the sheds overseas, you know like Texas or some place like that.  Oh, FYI dismount name was given to me at horse camp. Saddle I had for smokey the mule didn't fit good so I padded his back and forgot to cinch up the strap. Me and saddle slid under the mule, in front of a bunch of touristos, trying to look cool with a flint rifle horn and gear crammed in my back and smokeys hoof in the old crotch area. Oh well people gotta call you somethin'.      Dismount

thats a cool quiver, I personally like that style too- something about having a quiver on a bow never really appealed to me- but that antler grip looks great, man! the rest looks good and custom as well. hope to see more of ur work. -jimmy
