osage, sinew and some skin
« on: July 12, 2011, 04:21:37 am »
Well finished this one last month but hadent posted it. just got time right now so thought Id post it :) its an osage sinew backed with cow sinew and some snake skin. the bow is about 58 inches long and pulls 70lbs @ 29 inches. I love the way this bow shot. I took it out to the archery range and shot it 60 yards a few times, that was really fun :)

Sweet! Are the wrap arounds just ornamental? Is that leather or sinew at the recurves?

PD- Dont remember how wide I think like about 1 inch. ( i dont have it with me anymore, it went to a horse archery school.)
jpitts: thankyou, yea theyre just ornamental, some of the original plains bows and Ca bows had it so I thought Id put some too.

Very nice bow, I love that style, like I did a tendon reinforced with rattan and cow's belly bamboo, the picture seems to be larger 58-inch

Very cool Cesar, love that full draw shot. I think it will fit right in to where it's going. :)

Cool bow - I like it! Like those stone points too. Did you make them?
