What do 'You' think??

Out walking today I found another good looking hickory, the pics are what they are,but from these three pics what is you impression of the grain in this tree?? I've cut many a tree like this assuming that the grain was straight only to find Its twisted....so have a stab at it !! (((CAUTION))) Your Input may affect the health of this tree!!!  Ron

It may mean nothing but there looks to be a small twist in the bark@ the center of the tree. Either way you should investigate further because that tree looks like a mass producer(for fire wood if it proves tricky of bows If the grain runs straight. Good luck!

Its hard for me to tell with the pics sideways. It does look OK though.
  If you can wait a few months removing the bark will be WAY easier. Once the leaves are out is the best time IMO.

I'd try to find a vertical tree, those ones growing horizontally are just trouble ::).

will do Pat,Jawge and Pappy,its miles out in the woods,so like a few others that I've found I'm marking them with paint and harvesting in the early summer...cmon summer!!
