What should i do with my lilac stave? Help
« on: June 07, 2015, 10:26:32 am »
Yesterday, I harvested a great lilac stave, 8 feet long, approximately 2 inches in diameter and pretty straight. I've heard about the qualities of lilac and how it twist and crack when drying. But someone said he is reducing all his lilac staves while they are green and never had problems with cracking. Now, I have a lot of lilac, but this is the only one not twisted and I would need some advice on what to do with it. Thnak you

Seal the ends and leave bark on. Wait 9 months to a year.
