Tree rings
« on: October 02, 2019, 06:59:30 pm »
Thought this was an interesting snapshot at how dry my area has become over the las 20 or so years.

I may have missed a few rings, even with a magnifying glass it was hard to keep them sorted.

The way I marked it, I counted 4 rings in the first 3/4 inch, 17 in the next inch, and 36 in the final inch.

This year was a pretty wet year.  Summer 2018 we were something crazy, like 45 days with no rain.  All forest lands shut down for fire danger, even the archery range.  We average about 16" of rain per year.
