My wife's family is Lakota Sioux, my sister in-law had went to a (drum making class) and made a raw hide drum. I had asked about a drum stick and she said that was another class and more $. I had been thinking of trying to make her one and had not got around to it. a couple weeks ago she picked me up a piece of obsidian. I thought this would be a good time to give the little stick a go. so I made here one, sorry no pics of her drum. but here is the stick. thanks for looking Ed

obsidian in the leather??? No, Zuma the obsidian is for me to make arrow heads with. There is leather under the leather. The drum stick was a trade for the obsidian she picked up for me. Sorry if i confused you guys, not really sure how tho. Have a good day. Ed

Up here after an Anishinaabe woman makes a drum they "birth" it so that it can be used in ceremonies otherwise it's just an ordinary drum.
