In my ongoing thickness sander build I have come up against a few more unknowns that I need some input on. I am making the style that uses a sled to carry the lam through the sander.
1) What is the maximum thickness you can fit through your sander? I'm trying to figure out what maximum gap to start with and how much thickness adjustment I will need. I guess another way to ask this is how thick is the stack on top of your sled? That would be the taper board (or however you set your taper) and full thickness lam combined.
2) How long do you make your sleds?
3) How long are your taper boards? What material do you use for them?
4) How long do you make the lams?
Thanks,
Mark
