For sure not dogwood or persimmon.  One of the log buyers at work said sourwood and one said gum.  When some of the others where I cut it bud out and get a few leaves, I'll figure it out.
Be thankfull for all you have, because no matter how bad you think it is...it can always be worse.

   I do not know but it looks alot like a member of the Aspen family.   If so it would not be a wood I would like to try and make a bow out of.
