Kids Bow
« on: January 22, 2009, 07:23:39 pm »
Well, here is the first bow for my almost 4-year-old son.
He insists on it, cause his sister has one too.
She is five years older, but that does not worry him at all  ;D

Corvin's bow:
Hickory (board) backed with black silk. Handle and tips are from Tigerwood (Goncalo alves) and maple.

Length NtN 36 1/4'' (92cm)
??lb / xx'' (well, it is light)
Width at Fade Outs 1 3/16'' (30mm)
Width at the tips 23/64'' (9mm)

I hope he will enjoy - and shoot with it.
And I hope you like it too.

ElDestructo, when you were a kid the Michigan State Police still had dog teams and cap-lock rifles!!!

You would have had every Eye-talion kid in Ishpeming trying to trade it off you for a bag of fools gold!!

Very, very nice. Kid's Bow or serious work at woodcraft. Not to mention fine bowery. And really decent pictures. Thanks and this one is a keeper for January Self Bow of the Month.

Hm, I suppose my son is stronger than I thought.
I didn't looked just one moment an he pulled his bow to much - and the lower limb brook.
No "January Self Bow of the Month"-candidate from me this time  :-[

Ok, I will try to repair it - and I had already glued the limb (no problem: it was a very long break, about 4'').
Then a backing from linen fabric and a facing with 2mm maple - root for me, that this will work  ;)

Although it will be no selfbow again, just another laminated  :D

Man, I am really sorry to hear this.

This is one of those posts that you go from really happy to very sad.

I am shocked hickory broke.  Wonder if the break was from a board bow design?
