First Point of The Year
« on: February 08, 2009, 07:36:23 pm »
It was so nice out after work today(about 45) I cleaned the snow off the patio and dusted the knapping
tools off :) Grabbed the ugliest piece of alibates that I got from El Destructo and set to bangin on it :)
Here's what I managed, 2" long 1 1/4" wide, still needs the edge touched up but overall I impressed the heck
out of myself ;D Can't wait to get down to Pappy's and get some hands on with folks that actually know what their doing.
Supposed to snow all next week but this was a nice mid winter break 8)

Way to go Dana! That's right - nothing wrong at all with that. You'll be sticking rocks in deer next year, or later this year I should say ;) :).

That's a keeper.  Nice work and nice looking alibates.  I think Alibates is really beautiful chert, yet I rarely see modern knappers using it.  Museums in Ok have ancient pts  of Alibates that are extraordinary.
