3 boo backed ipe 'warbows' in the making, first one done with 110@30

this is the just-finished bow. It's drawing 110#@30", with a max drawlength of 32". It's a real struggle to draw it for me, but since it's the best piece of Ipé I had, I don't want to reduce it. probably 115-120# @ 32". In the picture it's drawn to 30", the max on my tree (gotto inmprove the tree, or shorten the scale by 2", wich needs replacement anyways .

details yet to come, just as it's finish.



glued the other 2 staves today, I'll add some pictures later.

the little 'bowyers mark' is mainly to indicate the centre (handle section)

both staves, glued together a little, accidently  was great for sawing them out, tho.

the worst crossection, doesn't look bad from here. ( actually, these were the last 1/2" of each tip, wich have been, accidently, rounded on the beltsander. that's the reason for this strange fit.

Which glue did you use and how did you apply pressure? Can you give some more dimensions (handle, tips, taper)?

thank you Heiner! I used Titebond3 wich I got in a store in Arnhem, the netherlands. It's the only place were you can get it here :p I used 2 and a half innertubes, tied together with a simple knot. The final dimensions will be like 1 1/4" at the handle, like 1" at midlimbs, and 3/8" at the nocks, with a rounded front taper.
the sidetaper is, finished, 1" to 1/2"  or so

Ipe is very, very dense


here's a fulldraw pic, just 1" before I hit fulldraw,,, timing is very hard, especially with these bows :p
