My first two bows
« on: March 10, 2009, 07:20:25 pm »
My first two bows. The Osage bow was my first and pulls 40 pounds at 28" and is reflexed just over two inches when unstrung. The Yew bow is my second and pulls 60 pounds at 28" and is reflexed one inch when unstrung. Both are spliced at the handle and are made out of two sets of billets I bought for just twenty dollars. :) I actually got five sets of perfect osage and yew for fifty dollars. If you see anything wrong with any either of these bows feel free to let me know I want to know if i'm doing something wrong.

I agree with El Destructo- nice! Only thing I can see is the tips, you could make them a bit sleeker, or more rounded. Beyond that, I can't see anythign wrong.

I second Kegan's comment. They look great for your first couple bows.

Yeah the tips were the only things I didn't really like on those bows but being my first I was a little scared to do anything more to them. My tips now are much narrower and rounded. Thanks for the comments.

Very nice. You show some great skill for your first bows. What are the lengths of the bows?

Thanks for all the great comments. Good to know I'm doing something right. :) I guess I forgot the ntn measurements though so here they are the osage is 63" ntn and the yew is 67" ntn.
