A little knapping
« on: May 17, 2009, 02:12:08 pm »
Here's a few points I've made lately.  The Dovetail on top is glass. The first two from the left are from flakes I picked up from the debutage pile at the Classic, the two Dacite points and the last one are from spalls.
All the points I've ever made up until now were just pressure flaked from glass or slabs. But I figure if I'm gonna learn to knapp, I need to learn the whole process, including per"cussin"  ;D

Durn Shannon, those look great. You're gonna be the next Woody Blackwell-I wanna get one of your points now before they cost $1,200 dollars and are on the cover of the knapping calendar....:)

Shannon:  Very fine looking blades.  Sorry I missed watching the knappers in the pit.  You could use any of those for a point swap and the lucky receiver would be proud to be the new owner.  Joe

I Googled Mr. Blackwell, Steve.  Now I know you been eating dog food! :P  That guy is truly an artist.
Thank you Joe, some of those will be going out for the point swap. ;)

Here's one more I just finished.  That's all I'm doing today, I've had enough!  My neck, elbow and eyes are hurting.  It's 1-3/4" long and as usual, started out much bigger. >:(

I hear ya Shannon - an almost entire day of knappin can really wear you out. Practice makes perfect, your making some premo stuff these days.
