Ammo (a couple more added)
« on: June 05, 2009, 05:27:12 pm »
Here's some of the points I've made in the last few days.  I have a couple more, but their in my truck and the wife took it.
All are Sonora flint except the white one.
A couple of them will eventually end up on some arrows. Maybe I can put one through a deer this fall.
The longest one is 3-1/4", the shortest is 2-1/4"

Thanks fellers :)

Bob, Sonora comes from a very small area in north west Ky. It's pretty  hard to find, but goooood stuff!  I'd compare it to Georgetown flint from TX.

Wow Shannon, those are awesome! Is the sonora some of the same as Indiana hornstone? Looks like they would definitley put the meat on the table.

Here's the two I had in my truck.  The transclucent one is Sonora. I couldn't get the notches any deeper because of that rotten spot on the corner, but I think it'll haft.  The other one is from a nodule I picked up from a friends porch. I don't know the material, but I wish I had more of it. ;D

Tracy, sonora is different from KY or IN hornstone ;)
