Thanks for the pics pappy and putting this thread in the right forum. It will take me a while to get used to the site here. Looks like Bows and flintknapping will be the most popular forums for me and Mason.

Thanks again for taking the time to show us how to make fire with a hand drill ! Jesse also showed the bow drill a few weeks back at Pappy's when the Boy Scouts were there for bow building. Mason has also learned how to make char cloth, using flint and steel.

That's great to hear.  Maybey  Mason can give me a lesson with the flint/steel next year at Pappy's.   I've never tried it and would like to learn.
