Tomahawk
« on: August 23, 2009, 09:05:53 am »
cowboy sent me this tomahawk, it was just the head mounted in the handle, he left the finish
work up to me. Handle is osage dyed oxblood reed, cordage dyed balck, It doesn't show up well
but I weaved 4 strands of red cordage in the handle, handle wrap is fixed with massey finish,
two snake skin accent wraps and some red thread wraps. Thanks Paul and I hope I did it justice :)

Very cool

Interesting  facsimile, if  you  ever  test  it on  cutting/hacking  make  sure  and  post  the  results  of  your  test,  it's  obviously  lethal on game  and  light  work,  at  least  for  the  initial trials:)

That turned out great Dana. Looks way too nice to use. I think anybody would be proud to put that on display in their home. Really like the skin accents too.

You both did a great job on it.  All it is missing is a rawhide and veggie tan sheath with some snakeskin accents.
