Had a good week at the cabin,no deer but my first Turkey with a selfbow,pretty cool. 21 yard
shot cut the top of the heart off.I passed a doe at the same spot a little while earlier,thought she was to far.Go figure.

Nice shot Pappy! I can't ever seem to get to draw on a turkey. They seem like they always see me even if I blink a eye.

I have always had the same problem but some one told me don't be to careful,just when they get in range draw pick a spot and shoot,they will see you but if you can stay focused just shoot like they
haven't seen you and you will have time to get the shot off,staying focused is the problem I have
and just managed to do it this time.I have missed 2 already this year but this is first year I have ever got a shot off from a tree.

COOL BEANS, Pappy. I tried what you were talking about the last time I shot and missed twice. When I went to shoot, I just lifted up on both knees and the bird just stood there and looked at me.

A lot of times those birds will freeze up when they see the movement. If you just follow through and shoot, especially us snap-shooters, you have a good chance....
