Pennsylvania Eastern US yew

I harvested from an abandoned old farm shrub yesterday a yew branch, 4" at one end 3.5 inch at the other, 78 inches long, bent with 3.5 inch reflex on one side.  Has very thin sapwood and pretty thick rings, 16 per inch, although it seems very heavy.  Central PA valley botten in ridge and valley country at 1150 feet elevation.  Rings too thick for good ELB?

Dave, I'm going to try some thick ringed PA yew myself here pretty soon. A guy from our archery club has a big yew tree in his yard and he trimed it and brought me a couple pretty big limbs like (10"thick by 8' long) Pretty nice clean wood. Guess we'll find out......

Ten inch thick is pretty amazing.  Must be lake effect yew.

Actualy  he does live right next to the lake...lol. I guess the tree is huge as these were just some branches off of it. He said he can barely get his arms around the base of the tree.  :o
