Starting a Primitive Club in Orange County, NY
« on: December 29, 2009, 01:02:42 pm »
I'm looking to get a group together in my area.  Finding others who make and hunt with homemade equipment.  Trade some ideas, make some equipment, and maybe plan some hunting trips.  I don't know of any in my area. Thanks, Tom R

Hey Tom, start making and giving away your extra bows and arrows to friend and family and in know time you'll have your own primitive group. Believe me, it works! Attend any and all bow shoots and and show your work around. Some will scoff at your bows but there will be just as many that'll take a shine to your gear. Birds of a feather are out there, and they will find you. Keep looking. Have fun..............ART

I'm in Rockland County.  I have a little experience with a modern recurve bow.  Just got a hungarian horse bow and could really use some support.  Would definitely be interested teaming up with others.  I don't think I'd add much to the group other than cheerful disposition.

I e-mailed back.  I'll call.  I actually worked up there as a spec ed teacher.  I'll be working in Harris this summer.  Anyway, I've been making bows for a while, finally I made a nice hard hitting beechwood bow. I'd llike to meet some others and get more info and plan some informal meetings to work on equipment etc.

No worries Tom I'm sure there are plenty of people in our area who are into primitives.  I am going to try on organizing a group soon.  Starting small and exapanding.  I have a few interested already.
