Been thinking, "Sea Duck". Definately oily, probably really water resistant?  ;D

You guys are 100% on top of it. I contacted the US Fish and Wildlife Service and asked specifically about collecting loose gull feathers while beach combing. Their answer " Gulls are federally protected birds by regulation of the USFWS. Federal regulations prohibit the taking, possession, etc of protected birds and parts thereof (including feathers).."

I would never have guessed a common old sea gull is a protected bird.
