Good for Bo.  I spent Saturday and Sunday hunting Osceola down here but didn't connect.  Did have a gobbler call, but he wasn't buying.  Great to be in the field, though.

Taught my nephew to load and shoot the flintlock yesterday, that was a good time, also.  I'm hoping we will be able to bring him with us to The Classic, this year.  He is a good boy.  Hope it works out.

Just got home this morning and had a great week, Dave and I had a blast and got lots done around the place. Here are a few pictures of the fun.
Got the arrows all ready to mount for the Classic trophies. :) They should look nice. :)

As usual some showed up to do some bow work, Bill and Shawn. Got some stuff gathered up for a forge I plan on making when the Classic is over and I have a little time. :)

Then we headed up Friday to the Ky.TradFest, had a great time , then back to the cabin Saturday for a working/club shoot and squirrel cooking and good fellowship and fun before the work begins. ;) I also scored on a couple of blades while at the shoot. ;)

Some of you that make the Classic will remember Don from WI. He and his wife stopped by on their way back from Vacation for a visit, very good to see him and meet her. Very sweet lady. ;) Shawn found and old ax head on red river he gifted me, I cleaned it up and think it will make a nice addition to my collection, thanks Shawn. ;) Then checking out my new blower fan for the forge I plan on building. Works great. ;)

Andrew showed up for some bow work, Grant giving him some advice. Then Dave paying his rent putting some lights and plugs in the new shed and also in the new Target shed. I heat treated a azz [ I think that is what it is called ] ??  that was gifted me several years ago that was just to soft. I probably didn't get it prefect but it seem plenty hard now and holds a good edge.

Then for about 3 days I hauled 60 yards of wood chip and landscaped the whole area. Shawn brought me a large trailer to use that was a big help for sure. I am sore in places I didn't know I had. ;) :) But the place is looking good and should help in case of rain which we all know will happen. :o :o

We are going to have some type of long distance shoot off at the Classic and I was task to make the arrow and plaque for the award. I made a sour wood shaft/turkey feathers tied with sinew and a flint point[I didn't make the point] I think maybe Will or Bill did. I think it will turn out nice. The board came off an old smoke house on my place that dates back to the mid to late 1800's. Good to have friends, Doug gave me this turkey he killed Saturday, he just loves to hunt them but don't want any of it , not even the breast, go figure, " Mother Jude never raised such a foolish child"  from Jeremiah Johnson. ;) Greg busy making some more tiller sticks, can't have to many of them at the Classic.
