Thanks for the pics and stories, Pappy. Sounds like another great father/son trip for sure. I was surprised to see so much green out there. Very little pine beetle damage and plenty of water.

Thank you very much for posting the pictures and recap of your trip out west. What a Adventure for You and your Son. Beautiful Country. Nice to know such places still exist. Thank you again for taking the time to post this and all of your Twin Oaks posts. I look forward to viewing each of them.

Looks like the hunting season for whitetail is right around the corner.  Time to get the hunting gear ready to hit the woods.

Tried to post some pictures Friday morning but for some reason it wouldn't let me, I will try to add a few now and see what happens. Ya Bob I live in a pine thicket here and every once in a while when the weather is just right I can walk out and get that same smell here and my mind always goes back. It was a great trip Pat and very little beetle kill in that area. We seen a few folks Chief but mostly in the main camp area but hardly any while out hunting. Thanks Brian, always enjoy your going on's in NY. also. Went to Margaret Ann's 3 rd birthday party today so I am home on Saturday night for a change, nothing on TV for sure so I will try and post a few more pictures tonight. Some of my blind set up. :) Do a lot of hiking but also a lot of glassing. :)

Most of the trail heads were marked pretty good so at least you knew where you were headed. :)

Musk rat lake, beautiful smaller lake in very secluded area.  :) It would take us about 1 1/2 to get there from base camp about 3 miles, but well worth the hike in. :)

Didn't see any Mule deer bucks the whole trip but lots of doe. Got one circled in pic. 3, seen her several times , just couldn't close the gap. :)

Nice rubs in the area, also 1 day when the wind was right out of the west we got some smoke and Haze from the fires west of there.  :) Not bad but you could smell it.

Then the cold and snow came in, not to bad, in the 20's at night and maybe 4 inches of snow, it would come and go and not last long. We meet some really nice guys from CA. We spent a few evening enjoying their stories and getting to know them. Always seem to meet the nicest people doing what we do. ;) :)

That hadn't killed any Elk but done really good on the mice, they had them everywhere around their camp, they thinned them pretty good, think they caught 21.  ;) :) :)

More snow on the day we left, loved it !!! then I get home to this. :) :) :) Really miss my family and friends while I am gone but to see this country with your own eyes and walk in it is well worth the time and effort. Hope yall enjoyed. Now back in Tennessee to get ready for Deer season. Good Lord willing we will be going back in 2022.  ;)  Life is Good. :)
