Yep different pictures,it just what he dose most of the time and I don't want him to feel left out. ;D
The thing Jesse is using is and old meat slicer.it works great splitting the feather down the middle,
a lot less run off than splitting them with a razor knife and I don't like to peal them, makes them
flimsy and harder [at least for me] to fletch. Ryan it was kind of bright so I went back over it with
a darker Osage look, looks better ,just didn't get a picture of it after I put the other stain on it.
I hope to be finished in a week or so.Ya it is always a good time down there, good for stress relief. :)

Mike, that guy is Leapingbare...he's using an arrow splitter that splits the quill. It's purchased, but I'm not sure from where.

Pat, no these were new pic's from Saturday evening...Pappy had been leaving me alone for a while and picking on Leapingbare instead, since he wasn't around Saturday he decided to pick on me again.

Any of you guys ever try peeling the veins off the quils? I tend to do that sinc it leaves the quils behind and just a layer that the quils are attached to. No grinding or trimming of the feathers is needed and they glue or tie on real easy!

Tiller I have done that ,but don't really like it,it makes them harder to fletch for me because they are so flimsy, some people like it but not me.They are to easy to split and grind. And also I don't
mess up as many spliting them. Cowboy anytime you know you are welcome. ;) :)

Thanks fellers - I'll be back at least once a year. It would be more often if ya'll didn't have so many hills out there, you'd have a need for a water tower in the area eventually ;D.
