Ha d a great weekend,Had the place to myself Friday,Cooked a little steak and taters and got some things ready for our wood cutting Sat.I refreshed my salt licks Friday evening and finished tillering sister 1,Got sister 2 to brace and had to do a little more tweaking on the tips.Cut a big Hickory Sat.
It was 24 in. across the butt and we got 5 75in. logs out of it to the first limb.We got it all split, debarked and sealed,we estimated it to make around 75 bows so we should be good for another year.I let a log fall on my leg.thought I had broke it but just a cut and bruise.Got snake skins on sister1 and ready now to finish tillering sister 2.Steak and tater again Sat. night and
a real good night sleep, little sore today but all in all,Life is good. Here are some pictures.

Dang Pappy ya got to be careful as we get older it takes along time fer bones to heal. I broke my shoulder a few years ago
and it still ain't right. That sure is some nice looking wood you guys cut. Steak and taters two nights in a row how awful must be hard to suffer like that :D

Ya Dana it a tough life but someone has to do it.I told them Sat.none of our young guns showed up so it was just us Old F##@$ but we held up pretty good.I had the tree on the ground by 1/4 till 6 and cut into logs and we had it split and hauled out, debarked and sealed by around 2 and
other than my leg no worse for wear.I am limping a little today but it will heal.I haven't talked to Greg and A but I imagine they are a little sore also today. ;D ;D

I was a phone call away  but my phone never rang to inform me the cutting was going to happen. Now I feel bad that I wasn't there to help. Who knows if I had been there you might not have got hurt.

Jamie, I got two spare rooms for a while for free and there is so much work down here, especially your kind. A Northerner by birth, a Southerner by the grace of God. You would love it here. The mountains, the mid lands and the coast. Got it all. Some of the best Bass fishing and you get to do it every night if that floats your boat.
