Thanks Guy, it is much needed. :( Thanks guys for the well wishes ,it does feel good to be back in the woods, seen another nice 8 point yesterday evening in about the same area that I hunted Monday,25 yards broad side but that is just a bit out of my range, he was just trolling along, also seen 5 doe but no shots yet. Maybe today. O ya today is my Friday so I plan on hunting this evening and Thanksgiving morning with my son Beau, we do that every year and I really enjoy it deer or not. Then home for Thanksgiving and back to the cabin Friday. A good friend of Eddie and mine [Tim Beach] is stopping by for a day or so on his way to Wisconsin so that should be fun and of course I plan on playing with my new tractor. ;) :) Hope yall have a great Thanksgiving. See ya Monday. Life is Good. :) :)

Thanks guys, I will let him know. It was a very rainy but great weekend, got to spend a lot of time in the shop after after Friday. Did get a little hunting in Thursday and Friday and had some close encounters with my 7 point I have been looking for for several years now,7 yards but no shot. All I could do was smile. Beautiful sunrise to boot so that is always worth the time in the woods. Here are a few pictures of the fun. :)

Got the new seat put on My John Deer, the old one was in good shape but just faded so I told the guy I wanted a new one, he came through. Also got started on a new Osage bow for a good friend. Very nice piece of wood. :)

Getting the bow down to bow dimensions. A big mushroom, Will said it was eatable but we plan just letting it dry out and maybe some art work added to it. Not wanting to waste the old seat we put it to good use around the fire. Waste not want not I always say. ;) :)

Case always up to something. Me making an ax handle for one of the old heads Miss Joanie and I picked up a few month back. After seeing Chuck make one , I thought surly I can do that. :-\ not as easy as he made it look. ;) Turned out nice. ;)Didn't have any flat Hickory so this one is made of Walnut. :)

Hey Pappy,
One of the names for that mushroom is the "Dryad's Saddle" and the name fits, it can be tough as leather when you chew on it.

Have a good one!

Looks like a lot of fun! Once again, I wish I lived closer. I could use a little twin oaks inspiration right now. Patrick

Wished you did also Patrick. ;) Still raining here so yesterday I decided to start another ax handle, coming along nicely. This one is Hickory and plan on mounting another one of the old heads Miss Joanie and I picked up. Never thought about making a handle until Chuck inspired me, ;) :) Thanks Chuck, it's loads of fun. :)
