Hope no-one minds...

It's not strictly archery related but I'm so incredibly proud of her, I have to post about it.

A little under a year ago, my wife Freda took up painting (unfortunately not interior/exterior walls etc ;))

Here's a small few of her work.

Painted a good many months back and one of my favourites...  She gave this one to my sister's boyfriend for Christmas as he loved it so much.

My friend and bowyer-mentor Jim took this picture on a trip to Colorado (I think) a couple of years ago...

...Freda painted it for him, by my request.  I'll give it to him tomorrow night when I bring the Osage stave up to begin work on.

Jim also asked if she'd be interested in painting a picture for a raffle at the club shoot this July.  This is the result...

All these pic's were taken on my phone and REALLY do not do them an ounce of true justice.  The stag looks a little pale and lacking in my pic but in person, the texture of it's coat is visible through the brush strokes.

I love her skies...  I think Turner has some serious competition ;)

Very nice indeed. Looks like she has talent for sure. The first one is my favorite as well

She's truly got some artistic skills....very nice!

Tell her that my wife and I would hang any one of those on our living room wall.

Thanks guys.  She's sitting opposite me, a huge smile across her face!!  She really doesn't think she's as good as I keep telling her she is.  Probably comes from continuously looking at the pictures, seeing the flaws that didn't come out "just right" and not seeing each picture as a unique image, even if it's of something in particular.  I keep telling her "if you want something that looks exactly like the subject...  take a photograph!!  An oil painting is a one-time-only image that is perfect in it's own ways".

Diligence...  Thanks for the comment about the living room wall :)  I think that sealed the deal on the smile  :D

And Tim...  I think she's already thought of an "archer" picture...  with "yours truly" as the model, of course  8)  hehe.  Hopefully, as you say, I'll have a pic from S.D. for her to use as reference ;)

Greta work, why don't you have her do some archery art and put it on t shirts, I would buy at least one.
