no,jose these are not my first horn  composite bows,although it has been a few years since i have made any,,,also not to sound harsh,but novotany has never trained or showed me any horn bow information or teachings, ???,i am self taught in this respect,, although i do have adam karpowicz book on the ottoman bows..in my opinion he is the greatest composite horn bow builder in these modern times,,bar none.........james parker

James - Adam is undoubtedly the best composite horn bow builder, but he doesn't have two lovely and talented assistants like you do.  :) Beautiful bows.  Maybe someday I'll get up the nerve to build horn & sinew composites and not just wood...

James, to sound like the totally stupid newby I am., I would love to see a video of you stinging these bows.  For the life of me I can't figure out how that's going to happen.  :)  I know if I were to attempt such a feat, I would end up with one leg through one limb and head through another limb.

I got to see and touch them all yesterday. Pretty incredible!!!

Hey guys, here is the Plains style bow that I sinewed back in late spring.  46" tip to tip, sinew backed osage core, horn belly, sinew self-nocks, sinew string.  finished 57# @27".  bow has deer rawhide back, painted with earth pigment that I ground.  I used rotten egg whites as a binder in the paint.  Waterproofer/sealer is prickly pear cactus juice.  The arrows are split, shaved and scraped shafts that I made.  They have swelled nocks, stone points, turkey and pheasant feather fletching, sinew bindings.
