Reverse riser hybred bamboo, osage, bamboo
« on: March 25, 2007, 10:41:17 pm »
Here is a new bow I just made. It was a experimental design, with a reverse riser. It has a Raw bamboo back, osage core, and raw bamboo belly with black walnut accent stripes in the riser and walnut/osage tip over lays. It is 62" ntn and pulls 53#@28". I think it turned out pretty good. It draws to 28" very smooth, and shoots a arrow with authority, what do you guys think? :)

Now you are just messing with my head. Every time I look at the riser I go "OH CRAP" he's holding it backward.  It is a pretty bow Pat.    ;D Justin

stunning. beautiful line, both, braced and FD.   ryan needs to lock that boo away from you  ;D

would you say a bamboo belly has advantages over an osage belly?  or did you just want to try something new?  is the belly bamboo tempered?  i can barely imagine how difficult these r/ds are to tiller.  i constantly had to go back and forth between braced and FD picture to see where it bends.

Sweet bow! Tiller looks awesome, I just can't figure out how you fellas tiller a bow with a raw boo belly, all the nodes look intact. Do you tiller the belly core then glue up the raw boo?
