i would add a roll of 550 paracord.  it has countless uses, the inner strings can be pulled out for fishing line to sewing string.  the main sheath can be used for snares and other heavy chores.

A candle or two or three. A candle will help start a fire in the rain. A candle can provide waterproof wax. You can get a candle wet and it will still work.  A candle can be a friend on a cold dark night.

Yes definitely paracord and candles. Both have many uses and take up very little space. I keep both in my kit.
