Kiln Work
« on: May 19, 2010, 10:27:45 am »
I've Been working on restoring an old kiln for cooking rock. I've had to rewire it from 240v to 120v and some of the old heating coils were shot.
Here is a pic of the old 240v wiring and a pic of my new 120v wiring.
I have learned allot from this project and i think i can apply this to other things when they need fixing.

I'd Like to Thank Timo for all his help, I must have called him 20 times asking about what to buy and how to wire stuff. Thanks Tim!!
I'll post some pics of the finished kiln when i get finished.

Lol pappy :)
Almost. the wiring is done, and it works i had it up to 650* I'm going to have to add another coil so i can get it to around 800* for the novaculite.
I want to get the metal liner in it and repair the chips in the fire brick before i post the finished photos.
