Found some Rock!
« on: June 01, 2010, 05:52:45 am »
Hi guys I found some very waxey looking rock high in silica content!  It looks almsot like Ky Blue in appearence but this stuff due to weathering crumbles.  But it does flake.  Its too bad there are tons of it where I found it along the CherryValley road in Ny .  Thanks for looking.
Forgot to say that it was in bands about 6 -12'' tall and had an orangy cortex.  There probably is some good stuff deep inside the wall but u would need some TNT...lol

Whew! I'll bet that will work over a hammerstone pretty good.

Never heard of it. Wonder if some heat would help?
