12.5 inches...size matters

just came in from making this blade. it is 12.5" long. it is made of dacite. I had a few trouble spots that could have proved fatal, but they held up and I was able to get it thinned down and shaped without breaking it. all percussion using antler billet. then copper bopper.

got too deep with the one flake, had a hard time thinning because I was worried about the weak middle. it is by no way perfect, but it is large ;D

Nice. Still have not made one that big yet. Thos espots in the middle always get me too.

trust me...you dont want to get keenan started...   John, thanks for the reply, yes this is the largest one. I was inspired by the point you gave me. I like working with the dacite.
