Near the Yadkin River, North Carolina...only Rhyolite beast to be found here, but I hear that an excellent green Rhyolite is guarded by Big Foot some where near here.
There are no bad knappers, only bad flakes

I'm a beginning knapper from Wilmington, NC.  Going to the Schiele Museum in August to learn some skills.  I was also fortunate enough to meet James Parker this past weekend.  Unfortunately, he lives six hours from me but I'll save my pennies for gas money to learn from him!

I'm a beginning knapper too, I've been meeting jackcrafter (Patrick) for knapping lessons.  He's helped me a ton.  I'm in the  Dallas, Texas suburb of St Paul.  Hope to meet as many knappers as I can.

Newbie Knapper, (Turning Good Rock to Rubble) located on the West side of Houston.
Not sure where one might pick rock up off the ground in this area.

 Gus;
  I-10, on the north side of Houston, there is a landscape place that sells Perdanales by the truck load. Everytime I'm out there with my truck they are closed when I get off work.
Lakeland, Florida
 If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?

Mullet,

Searching my memory for the place you mention but am coming up blank.
Is it on I-10 proper?
I'd be happy to track it down.
If its on the north side of town, are you thinking of the 610 loop?
Or maybe I-10 just north of Downtown?

Well I haven't knapped in a while but I suppose I could still break a rock or 2 if I threw it down on cement.

This is a cool thread tho.
