Hickory Backed Yellowheart

Hickory Backed Yellowheart with Ipe powerlam, handle riser and tip overlay accents.  45# @ 28".  Really wish I could have moved the bend a little further out on the limbs but I didn't want to lose any more weight.  Besides it shoots great like it is and I am satisfied with it so far.  It is a right handed bow too making it for a friend.  I made this one with a little string follow, around an inch or so.  I feel this makes it easier to string/shoot and makes for a more stable bow for beginners.   Whaddaya think?  Thanks for looking!   :) :)

Oh yeah and this is the first time I used an overlay over the static handle area.  It really rounds out the handle and makes it more comfortable to hold and shoot.  Thanks again for looking~!   ;)

nice one. the handle area is nicely done, seems to blend well. color combo is cool there as well as the tips. like the southpaw draw on a righty bow. :D

thanks criveraville the bow is 66" NtN and around 1 3/8ths inches wide at the fades.  My form consists of a flat board with blocks on the ends.  Usually I will put the tips on the blocks back of bow up and clamp the handle area down in the middle and run C clamps and spring clamps down both limbs.  That's how I add reflex during glue up.  :)

Thanks Timo!  Only choice I have with the haircut, anything else looks bad because of my nonexisting hairline.  :D

Thanks eagleone!  never have had a problem with yellowheart glue ups.  They always stick together for me.

I like yellowheart. Makes a fast durable, not to mention sharp looking, bow. Yours looks nicer than mine.

Nice bow. I personally like a bit of string follow......seems to make a bow more forgiving.
