Great looking tools, Eddie. A few of us at the Hickory shoot, mainly Barry McCall with some help from a few others of us, built a little stone tool bow from a hickory tree we cut down Friday afternoon with tools very much like those. We had 'er shooting arrows by Sunday, needs to dry and season now, but we were pretty tickled with the outcome. One of those adzes like that was the main tillering tool, they work surprisingly well on green wood, don't they?

Boy Steve. She's got a nice bend.
I took a little wood off with the adz Barry had made. The adz worked very well for the shaping/tillering.  ;D      Pat

Eddie, is that some of that tough nasty chert like the chunk you gave me? Looks like good adze material, I'll have to chip me out a couple.
