damn, that's a beauty!!  Will it be "glossy" when it's sealed?

I have been using a finish called Super Sheen for my previous arm guards, that's pretty shiny.  On this one I want to try Satin Sheen.

Great job, really like the end results! I've used some different dies on the leaves with good effects...beige and yellow, then blend them together almost like a water color to give the leaves a "fall" look. Probably would be more realistic with sugar maple leaves then the oak.

Thanks Greg, I've seen a bit of your work in the "Life is Good" thread.  You make some nice stuff!

Day 5

Got her done!  I put a couple coats of Satin Sheen on it, and then punched some holes for the eyelettes.  The eyelettes are installed with a small punch and anvil.

After the eyelettes were installed, I cut some 1/8" dia. bungee cord to lace it with.  I lick the ends with a flame for a second to keep them from fraying.

And here's the money shots - all laced up.

Thanks for looking!

Been following along Cameroo, and I have to say thanks for taking the time. I don't really work with leather, and had no idea the amount of time and detail it took to do that kind of artwork.  Very nice.

Have been watching the pictures with interest.  It is interesting how a person develops a style unique to themselves with tooling leather and your style is like a signature.  It takes a tremendous amount of patience to preform all the steps required.  Just count the number of strikes it took to background with that little seeder!  A/Ho Joe

Beautiful arm guards. I might have to try to make one for myself.
