Texas Longhorn for a bow?

My Uncle came in town today bearing gifts! Heres a pic of the Longhorn skull he picked up a long time ago. It measures 50" TtT, 24" per side with about a 3" diameter. Im wondering if this would be good for a bow. Ive sinewed a couple bows in the past, never done a BBO or horn bow but Im up for a challenge. Anybody ever use this stuff?

Horn from hot weather cattle has a reputation for peeling apart when straightening is attempted with boiling.

     Shoot, I would not bother it, it is too cool!  You don't see those very often!  I would love to have that skull with those horns!  That would look so cool above my mantel over my wood stove in Montana!!!!
You can get other horns, off of the internet.  Leave those alone.  Use something else. ;)

I agree.  That looks to nice to cut into pieces.  Longhorn skulls are cool.

If your not sintamentally tied to it sell it on ebay and you could get enough money  to buy enough horn that will work for a couple bows. That there skull would bring a pretty penny ;D

I agree with the other folks.. Go online and by horn that's been tried and proven to work for bow making.. I believe you will be much happier and out less money in the long run.. I'm here in long horn country and I tells you it would be a sin to cut that up...

     You tell him Cipriano! ;D  Hey did you read my pm, email, and post on the snake skinning site, about sending Diego a snake skinning knife?  I have one I think he would like, and I will send it to you, if it is ok.  Pm me with your add. if you think it will be alright.  No charge, or trade involved.  Just a nice little knife I think he would really enjoy, to make snake skinning go a little faster with his big partner. ;)

Yeah, I would think one of those bandage / safety type cutting shears would work pretty darn well...just need a willing serpent to prove me right  >:D
