I don't know Pearlie. He kicked me out of the boat after I cought the fish.  ;D
Gus, I had to put this one back. He was just outside the slot by a few inches.

Egad Pat B...

I hear ya, happens rather frequently these days.
Here in Texas its 20" to 28" and we get two individual trophy tags for oversized Reds.

Here are some from the North Jetty during the early run in.

Seven reds, five 27 1/2" and two 31+" one each tagged by my fishing buddies.
And one good size black drum just under the top of the slot.

We caught thirty one fish that day and these were the little ones... :)

There must have been twenty boats around us, but the hole where the fish were hanging out was about the size of a bath tub.
You throw in on the other side of the boat and you couldn't give away your bait.

We left 'em biting, when the cussing from the other boats became a loud chorus...
Besides it was time to let someone else have some fun.

Hey Gus, how often do the mountains of Galviston get snow on them.  :o   Could those be halibut from the Northwest of Alaska? Nice fish non the less!

Yes Sir Pat B,

Those are the same mountains that show up in numerous Holywood picture shows about Houston/Galveston...  :)

In my defence I was just being silly...  O:)

Plus everyone knows down here flounder only get to be forty pounds...  ;D

(Grin)...

Those were Homer, AK Flounder... er, I mean Halibut.

Nice fish, Gus, I might be giving you a shout the next time I'm back working in Stinkadena. I usually end up stuck in a motel bored to tears when I'm there.

Sinkadena...  HAHA!

Ah... now that brings back memories... many good... some not so good...
Spent many of my childhood years there.

Yes Sir Mullet, if you get down this way give me a shout maybe we can dunk the boat and bend a rod. And if we catch a fish or two mores the better.

 :)

Nice red Steve. Did you get it the last time you were in Charleston?

Yes Sir Hillbilly,

That is a Purty Redfish.  :)

They are definitely my favorite inshore species.

Gus, I see there's a reason I should come down and visit you sometime.  Been wanting to do a little gulf fishing for awhile.  Nice fish. :)

Yes Sir George,

Gonna drag my rig over to the mechanic Monday.

If I can't get the mechanic to the boat, I'll get the boat to the mechanic...

If it wasn't a warranty issue on my powerplant I'd just do the service myself, but there you have the crux of my problem. :)
