thanks guys!

@Pearl:  it is 1 3/8ths wide at the fades...  My hunting bow is 1 1/4 wide at the fades I think... 

So far I have 4 coats of spray shellac and 2 coats of tru oil and I can still feel the scales... I think it is going to take at least 10 more coats of tru oil with steel wool in between coats, an arrow rest, and a handle wrap and then I will post finished pics, full draw, and stats.  Thanks again guys for all the encouraging words and nice compliments...  :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

So sweet...man that is one gorgeously snaky stave you started with, how cool.  I can see that I will have a major NEED for some Rattler skins like those in my future...boy, those are some perfectly camo'ed critters!
