100 grain novaculite
« on: August 22, 2011, 08:47:31 pm »
Not sure if I have spelling right please correct me if it is wrong.  I have been trying to notch like Tower and it is darn hard to do. I think I need to widen the mouth of the notch not really sure.  I took this one a little bit deeper than before. When I seem to have a nice point I am inclined to stop so that I don't break the point.

I recently got to see the quality of Iowabow's points up close and 1st hand...they are fabulous!!!  My only complaint is that he doesn't live close enough to go hassle in person for a private tutorial.

I started this one on Sunday afternoon and worked this morning on it for 30 minutes.  I finished it when I got home from work.  I just started back last week.  I really like to study how people in here use a technique.  I am going to try some of that punch notching stuff this weekend.  Tower thank you.  I can see how hard you had to practice to do what you do....wow!  I had some trouble on this point but worked through it.  Another thing I would like to learn is how Shannon does those pinetrees.... again wow.

John, i'd say your inclined to pay very close attention to detail! Can't believe youve come so far in such a short time. Very nice point indeed..

Have you gotten a point type book yet like Overstreet? You'll be making all kinds of points in no time with that for a reference. If you like Montels maybe we could get Tower to post another picture of his. He da man :).

Sorry, most of my points are still packed away in moving boxes. Here are a few I could find.
