1st fishing reel
« on: October 12, 2011, 07:19:39 pm »

Moderators feel free to move this.

Ok My first bow fishing reel.  7.25 OD shoot through reel.  It popped of my self made jig while turning the inside and split in 1/2.  I glued it back and will use it for functionality.  I decided to simply drill two holes for lacing it on and I think I'll use that method for smaller ones aslo as it should give  a better fit.

the materials are willow, craft foam, and a broken music box spring.  I will be keeping this one but will be improving my holding device for inside cleanup.  I NEED some buck skin for handle wraps and other sundries.  So I could make more of these in trade.  I'm thinking to leave them rough sanded to 100grt for expediencies sake.

the willow is super light.  I have many woods.

Nice work!  Let us see a pic once you have it mounted on your bow with arrow attached!
