I'm bumping this to the top to see if y'all are still coming and if anybody else is interested.  Planning to drop some osage next Saturday north of Dallas.  Anybody else interested in joining the fun and taking home some yeller wood?

I'm giving this another last bump to see if any other Texas area bowyers want to join in the osage cutting fest.  I'll probably make a post over on the bows forum pointing here to try and make sure everybody sees it.  We're supposed to get some rain tonight and tomorrow (and I hope we do, we need it) but Saturday is supposed to be dry and cloudy with a high of 62.  Should be perfect wood cutting weather.  PM me if you need directions to my place.    Saturday morning we'll eat breakfast (Mary's biscuits and gravy) at 8:00, load up the pickups, and head to the woods around 9.  Gus is going to stay after we're done working wood and either make some shavings or break some flint with me.  Anybody else near us is welcome to join in the fun.

Sounds like fun george...I always enjoy a yeller wood harvest party...I LOOOOOOVE cutting and splitting osage. Too bad im not closer,id help ya'll out just for the fun of it.  ;D

Ran the saw yesterday, just to make sure she was ready...
Cutting a decent haul of Crepe Myrtle staves was the bonus!
But there's just some intangible quality that makes cutting and splitting Osage distinctive and attractive... :o

As always, you crack me up Patrick.  Bevan, if you're gonna be sick 2 days...make it 3 and we'll get in a hog hunt. >:D

Gus, as I recall that saw was the key to our last cutting. ;D  Mine is running well now, but I really need to find the new chain I bought for it. ::)
