In my 21 years of bow builtding. I've cut dozzens and dozzens of OSAGE TREES. And had 100's of osage staves. Don't need any vine maple but would trade some OSAGE for some yew staves. No limbs but staves. Big enough for simi-recurve handle. No use for bendy handle wood.

There's a little bit of twist in the lower limb but she shoots just fine.

Here's a pics for all the doubters  ;D

Had to lower the weight to #55@26"

Just before I start putting finish on.

That looks very cool. I can see why you were concerned about the twist, your string might just fly off if things werent lined up perfect. How skinny are you going to go with the tips?

String stays on pretty good. I'm gonna take her down to about 1/2" or so.

Put string bridges on it, to remove any chance of it reversing. I don't think there ever was very much yew in the Clatsop, Tillamook, or Columbia county area. Really fine looking bow by the way

theres quite a bit in vernonia. ive seen 1 other in clatsop county most are at the higher elevations where logging doesnt happen. ive planted some around the families properties and stuff. but ive never cut down a yew. i have pulled staves from the side of trunks.
