Made a wallet for the old man
« on: February 05, 2012, 03:49:47 pm »
A couple Christmases ago, just as I started getting into leather working, I bought a Tandy wallet kit for my dad, thinking maybe he'd like to try some tooling as well.  Another Christmas passed and he still hadn't taken it out of the package, so I took it back and told him I'd finish it up for him.  He said he wanted some kind of deer or bull head carved into it, this is what I came up with.  It turned out a lot darker than I wanted, because I applied to much oil to it (lesson learned!), but I'm happy with how the tooling turned out.

Check it out!

That's a nice looking wallet Cam. The best of both worlds. A buck and a bull  ;)

Thanks gentlemen.  I'm going out to the farm this weekend to go ice fishing, so I'll be giving it to dad then.  Hope he likes it!
