I know I already posted one Plainview, but here's another I made yesterday out of an improbably piece of Edwards. It's a tad over 4.5" and I did cheat by using heat treated material. I tried to stop knapping and not do too much pressure flaking on it in order to keep that "paleo" look to it. Yesterday was one of those rare days I couldn't make a mistake.

I gave it a try with some dacite and flint river. I've seen several variations, hope I got it close. Rick B

Looks to me like you did a great job. The form of the Plainview varies greatly and you knapped well.

A friend of mine found this paleo point in Texas many years ago. Could be a variation of the Plainview. Rick B

That's not a Plainview, I forget the type. My gut tells me Goshen, but I am unsure of all the variabilities. That flat base and in-curving sides are diagnostic. I'll get back with you on that unless someone beats me to it. Damn memory! It is distinctive.

+1 on Gahagan biface.  Late Prehistoric (not paleo).
